World Obesity Day 2026 – Obesity UK Live Event
This World Obesity Day, Obesity UK is challenging the conversation around obesity.
Obesity is recognised as a chronic, relapsing, multifactorial disease. Yet too often, services are commissioned as short-term “lifestyle” interventions rather than long-term disease management.
We are bringing lived experience to the forefront — not as token stories, but as expertise.
Join us live on 4 March as we explore the reality of living with obesity and what meaningful, sustainable support should look like.
About us
Obesity UK is a registered charity which operates as a membership organisation to represent the voice of people with obesity. Obesity UK members form a mutual support group and provide a valuable link between those who struggle on a daily basis and the healthcare organisations that provide evidence-based weight management services.
Our Mission
Obesity UK is committed to creating a society where obesity is understood, support is accessible, and stigma is eliminated. Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, we empower individuals and communities to improve health outcomes and drive lasting change.

Obesity UK welcomes several of the key commitments announced today by the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, in the 2025 Autumn Budget—including £300 million for NHS technology and the rollout of 250 new. The Health Centers. These measures have the potential to enhance access to healthcare, strengthen community-based support, and reduce inequalities experienced by many of the 14 million adults and increasing number of children living with obesity across the UK.
